"Natural" Gardening

"Back to Eden" was a transformational video in how we view "gardening".  We were already on the road to natural gardening with utilizing biodynamic and permacultural methods in how we approached growing food the way nature intended. The length of the video was a bit daunting, at first, but the depth of the information presented and how growing food and being connected to the Earth is a very spiritual journey is well worth it.

Teaming with Microbes Book Cover

This book introduced us to the complex organic food web that already exists within our soil and the advantages of gardening in such a way that encourages that food web to continue to thrive in a "complex world of soil-dwelling organisms whose interactions create a nurturing environment for plants."  The book is written in everyday language that everyone can understand and begin to use from day one. It was also written by students of Dr. Elaine Ingham, a pioneer in chemical-free gardening.

Schumacher Center for New Economics: They have been around since the early 1970's. Their mission is to educate the public about an economics that supports both people and the planet. We believe that a fair and sustainable economy is possible and that citizens working for the common interest can build systems to achieve it. We recognize that the environmental and equity crises we now face have their roots in the current economic system.
